We ave received the Dashboard PCB and are now working on the embedded software that will be controlling all the functions that will be available in the final Dashboard. On the pictures the Dashboard PCB can be seen with all the components mounted, amongst them are 2.8inch AMOLED Display, dot-matrix for gear indication and LED's for gear shift indication. On the back of the PCB the EPL-Node is mounted, this holds the soft core microprocessor that control the Dashboard functionalities.

More  parts for our car have arrived, this time it is the A-arms and the material for the impact attenuator.
The  A-arms (wishbones in A shape) were milled out of a AISI 7075 aluminum plate. The design was optimized for high performance and easy manufacturing. The team have chosen to use aluminum to reduce the unsprung mass and the overall mass of the car – all 8 A-arms together weigh about 1.5 kg – which is a big improvement compared  to last year steel tube wishbones.
Thanks to the use of U profile the CNC millingmachine was programmed once for making all 8 A-arms – that reduced the labor hours and the price of the part.

When you are driving a racecar it is important to know which gear the vehicle is in at all times. To do this you need a gear indicator, and they come in many different types. On the previous Vikings this gear indicator was quite troublesome, so this year we wanted a solution without glitches. So to make a glitch-free solution the Transmission Team got to work with the Engine Team.

More detailed information about the issue with the gear indicator is awaiting for those who click on the "read more"-button.
