Progress update

A lot has been happening for the last few weeks! Some of the most exciting parts will be mentioned here, because now we finally found the time to update you with our progress.

First of all we have received some part for the new car:

• Nissens have sponsored two 250ccm motorcycle radiators – they are already in our workshop. We have chosen to use smaller radiators to save weight.

• Rims from Keizer Aluminum Wheels inc. from USA. We have ordered 12 pieces of a 13x6 Kosmo Series – one rim weighing less than 3kg, thanks to the fact that the outer part is aluminum and inner part is magnesium. That is a big improvement compared to the 4,5kg of last year’s rims.
• Brakes from ISR Brakes - brake discs, calipers and pads.
• Honda CBR60RR engine have arrived and we are already working on it
• Traction control plates, which have been sponsored by Alusteel

What is even more important is that we have moved in to our new workshop. University of Southern Denmark have provided us with a very nice place to work and store our cars and parts. We have been supplied with a welding table, several assembly tables, shelves for storage of parts, a grinder, welder, toolbox, etc.

The engine team and transmission team are already busy working on the engine and gearbox.

We are right now waiting for the tubes for the chassis to arrive from Elmdon Metals in UK. We have ordered high strength steel AISI 4130. Hopefully we will get the material within two weeks time. When arrived we need to get the tubes cut in the right dimensions, weld them and paint the whole chassis. Some of the stickers from sponsors are already ready for put on the car.

The goal is to have the chassis done in a month – in order for us to start assembling the car in the beginning/mid April.
